About

HUMAIN Chat is the first consumer AI assistant built on an Arabic foundation model developed in Saudi Arabia. Launched on August 25, 2025 by HUMAIN, the Public Investment Fund's AI company, it runs on ALLaM 34B — a model developed with SDAIA and refined with input from more than 600 domain experts and 250 evaluators for cultural and linguistic authenticity. The app is Arabic-native rather than Arabic-translated: it recognizes dialects from the Gulf to the Maghreb, accepts voice input in multiple Arabic dialects, lets you switch between Arabic and English within the same conversation, includes real-time web search, and remembers context across chats. Everything is hosted on HUMAIN infrastructure inside Saudi Arabia. It is free on the web, iPhone and Android. At the time of listing it is available in Saudi Arabia only, with regional and global rollout announced but not yet dated.

Why we picked it

Most 'Arabic support' in AI assistants means English models that happen to understand Arabic. HUMAIN Chat is built the other way round, on a model trained for Arabic first, and it shows in dialect handling. It is the one general-purpose assistant we can recommend to Saudi users specifically for Arabic writing — the Saudi-only restriction is the only reason it isn't our default pick.
