Shape

Shape is a free, Windows-first agentic IDE built for designers and programmers who are tired of jumping between an editor, Figma, GitHub, a terminal, and separate AI tools. Code editing, visual design, Git, and AI chat live in one desktop app.

The distinctive move is direct visual editing: you adjust the running app by dragging and tweaking the UI, and when you apply, those changes land in source as ordinary diffs that Git reads like any other commit. A built-in AI agent works directly in your repository alongside you.

Live previews keep feedback instant, with Tailwind support and first-class handling of modern languages. The project is open on GitHub and intentionally early, with edit approvals for moments when the agent touches a file you are working on.
