Copperhead
AI platform that helps hardware teams design and ship circuit boards.

Copperhead is an open-source AI engineering platform that brings the speed of software development to hardware design. Think of it as Cursor for circuit boards — it helps teams design, verify, and ship PCBs with AI assistance.
The platform runs through eight stages from brief to gerbers: spec, architecture, parts selection, schematic, layout, outputs, firmware, and dev plan. Each stage is gated — no real work happens on disk until the previous stage's artifact is verified.
Copperhead works with your existing KiCad files and runs ERC/DRC checks at every step. The CLI is free and open-source under Apache 2.0, with paid cloud and team tiers for hosted runs and collaboration features.

Why we picked it
Copperhead stood out for covering all eight stages from spec to gerbers, firmware included — that end-to-end range for actual hardware, not just a schematic sketch, is worth naming as a genuinely different category than the usual AI coding tool aimed at software.
