About

Squint is a desktop app that explains anything you're looking at on your screen. Instead of taking a screenshot, switching to your AI, uploading the image, and typing your question — just press a hotkey and drag a box around what you want to understand.

The answer appears in a panel beside the region you selected, without you leaving what you were working on. This eliminates six steps from the typical workflow and keeps your focus intact.

The free plan gives you 3 captures per day and 10 per week, with every feature. The paid plan ($10/month) adds 2,500 monthly credits and better models for hard tasks. Available for Windows and Linux, with macOS coming soon.

Why we picked it

Most visual AI tools require you to upload an image or describe what you see. Squint skips that step entirely: the region you select is the question. This seems simple, but it changes how you interact with AI from a separate conversation to part of your natural workflow.
