About

Quartz is an AI email client built for focus, running entirely on macOS without sending any of your messages to remote AI providers. The local model — currently Gemma — sorts incoming mail by importance, surfacing what matters and quieting the rest.

It also drafts replies in your voice, learning your writing patterns from past sent mail. Because inference happens on-device, drafts and metadata stay encrypted end-to-end. Gmail is supported today, with IMAP and additional providers on the roadmap.

Quartz is in public beta, free to download, and built on Tauri for a native-feeling Mac experience without Electron-level memory overhead.

Why we picked it

Quartz is the pick for anyone wary of sending email to remote AI providers — it runs entirely on-device using a local Gemma model to sort mail and draft replies, so nothing leaves the Mac.
