About

OpenScreen is a free, open-source screen recorder and video editor for Windows, macOS, and Linux. It records your screen using native system APIs, then automatically places zooms where you clicked, adds padding, shadows, and rounded corners, and smooths your cursor, so every demo looks finished on the first take.

The AI editing agent reads your transcript and timeline, then suggests cuts with timecodes you can verify. Every edit is undoable, and nothing runs without a provider key you supply. Local transcription via whisper.cpp works offline after a one-time model download.

OpenScreen is MIT licensed with no watermark, no account, and no usage caps. It ships in 15 languages, including Arabic, and supports every major package format on each platform.

Why we picked it

Most screen recorders make you edit for twenty minutes what should take two. OpenScreen places zooms by watching your clicks and lets an AI agent cut by transcript. MIT licensed, no account, no watermark, and it ships in Arabic.
