Ask your inbox anything to get summaries, drafts, & more

Gmail in the Gemini era adds Gemini 3-powered assistance directly into the inbox. AI Overviews summarise long threads and answer questions about their content, Suggested Replies take the thread's context into account, and a new AI Inbox filters low-value mail so the important messages stand out.
The aim is to shift Gmail from a mailbox that has to be worked through to an assistant that surfaces what needs attention and helps draft responses.
It is aimed at anyone who spends significant time managing email and wants summarisation, drafting, and prioritisation built into Gmail rather than in a separate tool.

Why we picked it
This isn't a third-party inbox add-on — it's Gemini 3 built into Gmail itself, summarizing threads, drafting context-aware replies, and filtering low-value mail. Worth including for how deeply native AI assistance is now, versus a plugin bolted on top.
