About

Gitar is an AI code review agent that does not stop at leaving a comment for a developer to deal with later. It reviews pull requests, diagnoses the root cause of CI failures, generates a real fix, pushes it to the branch, then validates the fix against the same pipeline and iterates until it passes. It works directly inside GitHub, GitLab, Azure DevOps, or BitBucket, with full awareness of codebase context and team conventions, catching logic and behavioral bugs that rule-based tools miss.

Beyond review, it monitors CI pipelines and analyzes failures, de-duplicating them and automatically detecting flaky tests. Custom workflows can be defined in plain natural language to automate review policies, add lint rules, or pull in context from other systems. Gitar became part of Sonar after emerging from stealth with $9 million in funding led by Venrock in early 2026, and offers free access to open-source projects on application.

By the company's own estimate, Gitar saves a 20-developer team roughly $1 million a year in lost productivity from pipeline failures and slow code reviews, as the volume of AI-generated pull requests continues to outpace what human teams can realistically review by hand.
