Audionaut
Open-source multitrack audio editor your AI agent drives over MCP
Visit website →About
Audionaut is a free, open-source desktop application for multitrack audio editing and recording. Built in modern C++ on the JUCE framework, it runs natively on macOS, Windows and Linux.
The standout feature: Audionaut speaks MCP, so AI agents like Claude can inspect and edit your sessions conversationally. Each change arrives as one undo step, and your file is never overwritten.
It includes stem separation via demucs.cpp (Drums, Bass, Other, Vocals), audio analysis powered by Essentia, and Auto Edit that finds segment boundaries and beats automatically. Export in WAV, AIFF, FLAC, MP3 or Ogg at your chosen bitrate.
Licensed under GPLv3 with a commercial option. Full source on GitHub with 161 stars and growing.

Why we picked it
Open-source audio editors are rare; ones that speak MCP are rarer. Audionaut combines real multitrack editing with native AI agent integration — no cloud dependency, no API keys. Active GPLv3 project built on professional-grade C++ and JUCE.
