Tax Star, the UAE's first AI-powered corporate tax software platform, has closed a $1.75 million seed funding round backed primarily by angel investors.
Founded in 2023 by Rayhan Aleem and Haris Tasawar, Tax Star built its reputation on automating corporate tax compliance, with automation and intelligence at the core of the product. The raise arrives alongside a regulatory milestone: the company is a pre-approved Accredited Service Provider (ASP) for the UAE's upcoming e-invoicing system, a mandate that will require businesses across the country to appoint an ASP and connect compliant e-invoicing to the national Electronic Invoicing System.
Being pre-approved validates Tax Star's technical readiness ahead of key regulatory deadlines and positions it to capture demand as UAE businesses race to comply. Proceeds will fund go-to-market expansion, product development, and simplifying compliance for businesses navigating the new requirements.
The round also feeds Tax Star's broader regional ambitions, with stated plans to expand beyond the UAE across the Gulf.
