Slack has unveiled Slackforce Surfaces, a new feature that lets users build interactive reports, dashboards, polls, presentations, and microsites directly inside a chat — no external tool required. Users describe what they need to Slackbot in natural language, and the AI assistant gathers information from relevant conversations and connected apps like Google Drive or Salesforce to generate it.
Once created, a Surface can be shared with colleagues and pinned to channels, where others can view it, interact with it, and leave comments. In one demo, a user asked Slackbot to create an arcade-themed visualization of AI token usage, and the assistant generated an interactive dashboard showing token consumption across sales, design, and engineering divisions.
The feature arrives months after Slack overhauled Slackbot into a full AI assistant capable of summarizing information across channels, sorting through messages, and scheduling meetings. It also follows the addition of collaborative vibe coding channels last month.
Ryan Gavin, Slack's chief marketing officer, said the key value proposition is keeping data where work already happens: you are not exporting data to another tool, but asking Slackbot to build the dashboard right where the conversation lives, so the whole team can act on it together.
Slackforce Surfaces is available to all customers, including free-tier users, with Slackbot enabled. Live data integration goes live in October. Slack notes the feature only accesses information users have already granted its AI tools permission to see.
