Google will soon let users tune their Discover feed by simply describing what they want to see. The feature, rolling out to the Google app in the coming days, uses AI to automatically adjust the feed and "remember" preferences for future visits.
The option lives inside the three-dot menu on the Discover feed. Tapping it opens a chatbot-style interface where users describe their preferences; the chatbot confirms the choices and lays out the types of content it will prioritize, with the option to add more detail if it gets things wrong.
Discover currently serves recommended articles based on a user's activity across Google's search engine and apps. AI-driven feed tuning is becoming standard elsewhere too: YouTube, Instagram, Bluesky, and X have all added similar ways to customize feeds with AI.
Google announced a couple of adjacent changes as well, including personalized daily audio briefings in the Google News app on Android. There is also an update to Preferred Sources, which lets publishers place an interactive button on their own sites so readers can quickly add an outlet to their list; the feature spans Search's top stories section, AI Overviews, and AI Mode.
