OpenAI is rolling out Intelligent UI in ChatGPT, a major update powered by its new GPT-6 Sol and Luna models that transforms the chatbot's responses from plain text into interactive visual experiences.
With Intelligent UI, ChatGPT can now generate interactive charts, scrollable image galleries, comparison tables and even functional tools directly inside the conversation thread. An example shared by OpenAI shows the chatbot teaching Mahjong by generating visual tiles that users can scroll through and categorize. Users can also ask ChatGPT to generate tools for tracking habits, planning trips or comparing products.
OpenAI says it specifically trained GPT-6 to decide when interactive visuals add more value than text, and how to format them within its responses. The shift marks a fundamental change in how users interact with language models — from reading answers to exploring them. Instead of parsing a long text response, users can now scroll through visual summaries, tap on charts and interact with structured data embedded in the conversation.
GPT-6 with Intelligent UI is rolling out globally to ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business and Enterprise users starting today. Free and Go tier users will gain access on Thursday. Higher-tier subscribers get additional capabilities including custom visual themes and deeper interactivity options.
